Siddhatek Shree Siddhivinayak is a famous temple located in the village of Siddhatek in Maharashtra, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, who is also known as Siddhivinayak. The story behind this temple is as follows:

The story behind is, of demons called Madhu and Kaitab is a popular Hindu mythological tale that is closely associated with the creation of the world. According to this legend, at the beginning of time, Lord Brahma was tasked with creating the universe. However, he found himself alone in the void, and his efforts were fruitless.

In his despair, Lord Brahma decided to perform penance to Lord Vishnu, who is believed to be the preserver of the universe. Lord Vishnu appeared before Lord Brahma and offered to help him in his task. Lord Vishnu decided to take the form of a boar and dive into the cosmic waters to retrieve the earth, which had been submerged in the waters.

As Lord Vishnu was diving into the waters, two demons named Madhu and Kaitab emerged from the earwax of Lord Vishnu. The demons were extremely powerful and immediately attacked Lord Brahma, intending to stop him from creating the universe.

In order to defeat the demons, Lord Vishnu prayed to Lord Ganesha, who appeared before him in the form of Siddhivinayak. Lord Ganesha fought against the demons and eventually defeated them, allowing Lord Brahma to continue his work of creation.

The Siddhatek Siddhivinayak temple is believed to be the site where Lord Ganesha appeared in the form of Siddhivinayak to help Lord Vishnu defeat the demons Madhu and Kaitab. The temple is considered to be one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples in Maharashtra and is regarded as a highly revered pilgrimage site for devotees of Lord Ganesha.

The original temple is believed to be built by Vishnu, however it was destroyed over time. Later, a cowherd is believed to have had a vision of the ancient temple and found the icon of Siddhi-vinayaka. The cowherd worshipped the deity and soon others came to know of the shrine.
